Things I’m Learning About Turning 40

Turning 40 has not delivered a thunderbolt of wisdom. It has delivered reading glasses, better boundaries and an intense opinion about lighting. I am learning that reinvention does not have to be dramatic. Sometimes it is cancelling the thing you dread, wearing what you actually like, and no longer auditioning for rooms you never wanted to be in.

I feel less finished than ever, but more like myself. That feels useful.
